What it does
MacVendorCheck identifies the manufacturer behind any MAC address or OUI prefix. It holds 53,753 vendor assignments covering 30,200 organisations, each with its own page and a free API.
Where the data comes from
All vendor data is the official IEEE registry of Organizationally Unique Identifiers, across the three block sizes: MA-L (24-bit), MA-M (28-bit) and MA-S (36-bit). The IEEE publishes these registries openly. We download and rebuild them monthly, so lookups reflect the current registry.
How it is built
Like the rest of our network, MacVendorCheck runs on a local data store, not a paid third-party API, so lookups are unlimited and instant. It shows no ads and asks for nothing.
The network
MacVendorCheck is part of a family of free, data-driven tools including IPSnapshot (IP lookup, VPN and blacklist checks), CardBinCheck and AreaCodeCheck.
